2022 NOTL Candlelight Stroll 12-02-2022

On December 2nd, the streets of Niagara-on-the-Lake transformed into a river of light as thousands gathered for the annual Candlelight Stroll. Participants, adorned with red and green candle holders, many already casting a warm glow, walked through the charming town in a poignant display of community spirit.

This year, the Candlelight Stroll shone a light on three worthy beneficiaries:

  • Ceto Reid: A farmworker from Jamaica who was tragically struck by a car while riding his bike. The community rallied around Ceto, and the Candlelight Stroll aimed to provide support during his recovery.
  • The Farmworkers Hub: This organization provides essential support services to migrant farmworkers in the Niagara Region, addressing critical needs such as access to healthcare, legal assistance, and social support.
  • Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Palliative Care Service: This vital service provides compassionate end-of-life care to residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake, ensuring comfort and dignity for those facing terminal illnesses.

The Candlelight Stroll is more than just a festive event; it’s a powerful demonstration of community compassion and a commitment to supporting those in need. By coming together to light the way, residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake showcased the true spirit of the holiday season – a season of giving, hope, and unity.
